Man as Industrial Palace
Love this animation of Der Mensch als Industriepalast (Man as Industrial Palace). Henning M. Lederer’s animation is based on Fritz Kahn’s 1926 poster. Learn more about the project at industriepalast.com.
Slower than a Speeding Bullet
There is plenty of super slow-mo photography out there, but nothing like this. Check out these bullet impacts at 1,000,000 FPS!
A Sad Day for Soccer
Of all the possible sports equipment out there, why soccer balls? I had no idea our friends over at SSI Shredding hated the sport so much. Well at least two of them got away.
Louis C.K. on Conan
Before this clip, I had never actually seen any of Louis CK’s material. But after listening to him rant about our spoiled generation on Conan for a few minutes, I have to give him my full endorsement. This is hilarious! (Note: There is a good chance this clip will get pulled by NBC, but for now I’ll keep my fingers crossed) YouTube Link
Apple Evolution
This is a pretty thorough look back at the evolution of Apple products over the last 3 decades. This chart spans from the very beginning, 1976, through 2007. You’ve come a long way, Mr. Jobs.
Quantum of Physics
If you were hoping this was post about about the physical science behind the stunts performed in the new James Bond film, you’ve been mislead. This is actually a flash animation explaining string theory in a very simple yet entertaining way. Reminds me of the guide from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Very minimal and very efficient.
Virtual Barbershop
Unlike most of my other posts, this isn’t a print ad, design website, or something to do with Ferraris. It’s a sound clip, demonstrating the awesome power of stereophonics. However, you need to use headphones for it to work. So if you have a minute to spare, close your eyes and have a listen… it’s totally worth it.
Science is Cool
Awesome science t-shirts from Jeremy Kalgreen. Be sure to check out both pages, demonstrating all the wonderful things you can do with science.
Dry Clean Only
Introducing the BMW GINA Concept. This car is like no other. Although at first glance it appears to be your everyday, totally rad, sports car of the future, there is one small difference. The outer shell of the car is made entirely out of fabric! Be sure to check out the video to see it in action.
Tennis for Two
Behold, the original PONG game! Not actually PONG, but a game that predates it by 14 years. The game was called Tennis for Two, and despite the fact that it came much earlier that its more famous counterpart, TFT looks to be more dynamic and more fun!
